Slipstreamer SS-30

Initally I was having problems with fitment on my bike (2006 Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan Classic FI), I called Slipstreamer factory help line and we got it done. Shield looks great, works great, is adjustable(pitch), and comes with brackets included (most windshiels on the market require a separate bracket purchase). I'm very pleased with the SS-30.

Good windshield, almost fits

The windshield arrived in good time and in good shape. Nothing was damaged in shipment.

It was advertised as a fit for my 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan Mean Streak. It does fit, except that it hit the instruments (speedo and tach) that are in front of the handlebars. That caused the shield to lean too far forward, even beyond vertical. I used my Dremel tool to file away some of the material at the bottom of the screen so it would lean slightly back and miss the instruments. I also bought some edge trim from Kragen to put along the bottom to clean up the rough looking filed material.

Since this screen is advertised for my bike, I thought it would fit over the instruments and I would not have to make any trimming adjustments. But, it is not as expensive as some of the other brands so that is the trade off, I guess. My bike is not very expensive, so I didn't want to put an expensive shield.

Overall, I am satisfied with what I got for the price and wha t I had to do to get it to fit properly. After my modifications, it looks good and does a good job of blocking the wind and, as a bonus, I am now getting about 3 miles per gallon better mileage.

Nice windshield

Good instructions led to an easy installation. This windshield looks nice and does what I wanted it to do; keep off the bugs.
